The working principle of the relief valve
When the hydraulic oil in the system flows to the relief valve, the velocity and flow rate of the hydraulic oil are controlled by the spool

If the hydraulic oil pressure is higher than the opening pressure of the spool, the spool will automatically open, and the hydraulic oil flow beyond the preset value will be discharged through the overflow port. If the hydraulic oil pressure is lower than the spool closing pressure, the spool automatically closes, preventing the opening of the overflow port. Therefore, the design and adjustment of the opening pressure and closing pressure of the spool is very important, which will affect the working performance and maximum working pressure of the relief valve.
