The relief valve can not only play the role of safety valve, but also can be used as a pressure regulating valve, unloading valve, back pressure valve, balance valve and so on. The following is a detailed introduction of the seven functions of the relief valve in the hydraulic system.

1. Overflow effect
When the quantitative pump is used for oil supply, it is matched with the throttle valve to adjust and balance the flow in the hydraulic system. In this case, the valve often opens with the fluctuation of pressure, and the oil flows back to the tank through the valve, which plays an overflow role under constant pressure.

2. Play the role of security protection

Avoid accidents caused by overload of hydraulic system and machine tool. In this case, the valve is usually closed, only when the load exceeds the specified limit to open, play a safety protection role. Usually, the setting pressure of the relief valve is adjusted 10~20% higher than the maximum working pressure of the system

3. Used as unloading valve

The pilot relief valve and two-position two-way solenoid valve can be used together to unload the system.

4. For remote control pressure regulating valve

The remote control port of the relief valve is connected to the inlet of the remote control valve which is convenient to adjust, so as to realize the remote control purpose.

5. For high and low multistage control

Use the reversing valve to connect the remote control port of the relief valve with several remote pressure regulation to achieve high and low multi-level control.

6. Used as a sequence valve

The oil return port of the pilot relief valve is changed into the outlet of the output pressure oil, and the channel of the original oil return is blocked after the pressure is pushed open the conical valve, so that the re-processed oil drain port can flow back to the tank, so that it can be used as a sequence valve.

7. Used to generate back pressure
The relief valve is connected in series to the return oil circuit to generate back pressure and balance the motion of the actuator. At this time, the setting pressure of the relief valve is low, and the direct acting low-pressure relief valve is generally used.
