What are the functions of solenoid coil?

Working principle of solenoid valve coil

What is the reason for the burning of solenoid valve coil?
When the solenoid valve coil is energized, there is thermal effect besides magnetic effect. Excessive heat generated by current thermal effect makes the temperature of the coil rise continuously, which leads to the coil burning out. Thermal energy generated by current thermal effect = the square of current multiplied by the time of resistance (of the coil). That is, q = I 2rt. If the resistance r of the coil is equal to 0, q = I 2rt = 0, the coil will not generate heat. Of course, the resistance r of the coil cannot be equal to 0 in general. However, thicker wires can be used to make coils, and the resistance R of the coils is very small. Under the same current condition, the thermal energy generated by the thermal effect of current is very small, which will not cause the coils to burn out. Of course, the thermal energy generated by the thermal effect of current can be reduced by reducing the current passing through the coils, but the generated magnetic force is also reduced, which may make the solenoid valve unable to operate normally.
