Application status
1.Sensors used in engine control system mainly include temperature sensor, pressure sensor, position and speed sensor, flow sensor, gas concentration sensor and knock sensor. These sensors provide the engine's working condition information to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU) to improve the engine's power performance, reduce fuel consumption, reduce exhaust emissions and carry out fault detection.
2.The main sensor types used in automobile control system are rotation displacement sensor, pressure sensor and temperature sensor. In North America, the sales volume of these three sensors accounted for the first, second and fourth respectively. In Table 2, 40 different automobile sensors are listed. There are 8 kinds of pressure sensors, 4 kinds of temperature sensors and 4 kinds of rotation displacement sensors. At present, about 100 sensors are installed on a domestic ordinary family car, while the number of sensors on luxury cars is as high as 200.
2.In recent years, the MEMS technology developed from the semiconductor integrated circuit technology is becoming more and more mature. With this technology, various micro-sensors that can sense and detect mechanical quantities, magnetic quantities, thermal quantities, chemical quantities and biomass can be made. These sensors have small volume and energy consumption, can realize many brand-new functions, are convenient for mass and high-precision production, and are easy to form large-scale and multifunctional arrays, which is very suitable for automobile applications.
3.The large-scale application of micro-sensors will not be limited to engine combustion control and airbags. In the next 5-7 years, applications including engine operation management, exhaust gas and air quality control, ABS, vehicle power control, adaptive navigation and vehicle driving safety system will provide a broad market for MEMS technology.
